A national celebration of the big impact small charities have in communities across the UK

This Small Charity Week (22–29 June), Derbyshire Dales Council for Voluntary Service (DDCVS) is proud to be part of a national celebration of the vital role small charities play in communities across the UK.

This year’s campaign, Small charities. Big impact., shines a light on the difference small charities make every day — supporting people, strengthening communities and creating change where it matters most.

As part of the Derbyshire Youth Transformation Pilot, StreetGames are hosting a  Youth Work Induction Workshops in partnership with an experienced Youth Work leader. This interactive session provides a practical introduction to high-quality youth work, grounded in recognised frameworks and the Youth Work Code of Ethics.
The workshop will cover:

Update on DDCVS, May 2026 from Chair, Tim Furness

As some of you know, Martin Townsend has stepped down as Chair of Derbyshire Dales CVS, but we are delighted that he will continue to support the organisation as a trustee. I would personally like to thank him for his commitment and leadership over the past ten years.

As I step into the role of Chair, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to share a little about the work of the CVS and the priorities we are focusing on over the coming year.

Children and Young People Emotional Wellbeing Small Grants

The Dales Local Integration Group, funded by Derbyshire County Council Public Health, is pleased to announce that the Children and Young People Emotional Wellbeing Small Grants are now open for applications.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for community-based projects that support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, with a focus on early intervention, prevention and alignment with the THRIVE Framework.

Derbyshire Dales CVS Social Connectedness invites everyone – residents, volunteers, community groups and local organisations – to Community Connections Online, a free, online event that shows how projects are helping to close the digital gap and how helping people get online also brings people together, reduces loneliness and builds stronger local networks.
