About Us
Strengthening organisations, enabling stronger communities across the Derbyshire Dales.
Derbyshire Dales CVS exists to promote strong, sustainable and healthy communities through voluntary and community action.
We help to shape the direction of the local voluntary and community sector while also supporting individual organisations.
Why we matter
Rural communities rely on local organisations, but many are under-resourced and face increasing demand. Without strong support, services and activities become harder to sustain. We make these organisations stronger so that communities get the support they need.
The problems we help to solve
- Rural isolation
- Health inequality
- Needs arising from an aging population
- Access to services
- Community resilience
Why DDCVS is uniquely placed to do this work
- Trusted, local infrastructure organisation
- Rural reach
- 25 years experience of working in the local community and with local partners
- Strong statutory partnerships
- Strong voice within local voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise forums
