Harriet Brown

Harriet Brown is delivering the Social Prescribing service with Zoe Beesley, Grace Innes and Debbie Rushworth, linking individuals with community activities to support their mental and physical health and wellbeing, and working with community groups to identify gaps in service.

Harriet joined Derbyshire Dales CVS in February 2020. Before joining the CVS, Harriet worked for the charity Good Things Foundation, developing digital and social inclusion projects and supporting community centres across the UK to deliver these. This could vary from creating resources to help people understand Universal Credit claims, to working with the UK Petitions Committee to increase voting and political participation in young women.

Prior to this, Harriet graduated from the University of Derby with a joint honours degree in Education Studies and Global Development, with a special focus on educational inequality in the UK and across the world.

Harriet has lived in the Derbyshire Dales for 11 years, but has also lived and worked in London, Germany and Vietnam. In her spare time she enjoys being out in the Peaks, either walking with her dog, or running if she’s feeling especially energetic.
