Support for Sports Clubs in the Derbyshire Dales

Franky Boyland is Sports Welfare Lead for Active Derbyshire

She can support you in creating safer and more inclusive environments within your Sports Club or physical activity provision.  Franky’s role is funded by Sport England and therefore free to clubs, it is about offering time and capacity to clubs as we recognise volunteers sometimes struggle to find time to do the developmental work that they might want to do.

Some of the recent work includes: –

  • Arranging Play Their Way training for coaches (child first coaching)
  • Looking at developing safer internet, AI and digital harms training for clubs
  • Supported a funding bid to produce a video with a club wanting to create warmer welcome for their inclusive sessions as well as all members – we are then working together to gather and promote youth voice.
  • Supported a club who want to offer unsupervised junior sessions in their club – working on policy and document and liaising with their National Governing Body to help make it happen.
  • Supporting an organisation in raising Neurodiversity and Understanding Individual Needs to their clubs

If you fancy a chat to share some of your ideas and want support in doing this, then you can get in touch through the below contacts.   Franky is always happy to have a coffee and listen.  Working Together is better 😊
