Got an idea to bring people together? We’d love to help you make it happen!

Our Social Connectedness Community Kickstart offers up to £200 to support volunteer-led activities that reduce loneliness and isolation in the Derbyshire Dales. Whether it’s a coffee morning, a craft group, a walking club, a community event, or something completely new – this is your chance to give it a go!

Who Can Apply?

  • New ideas from individuals, friends, neighbours, or small teams – no bank account needed!
  • Existing small community groups – we also welcome applications from more formal groups, with constitutions, bank accounts, already doing great things – you can apply too.

What Can You Use the Money For?

People have used their grant for things like:

  • Room hire
  • Small sports equipment
  • Guest speakers
  • Insurance

Your idea doesn’t have to be big – just something that helps people connect and feel less lonely.

Success Story

Shelly’s Arts & Crafts Group
Shelly wanted to run an arts and crafts group to support people struggling with their mental health. She wasn’t sure where to start, so she contacted us. After a friendly chat, we helped her set up the group and apply for a small grant to buy storage for craft materials. Now, her group meets regularly, and members say it’s the highlight of their week!
