Funding Opportunity for Children and Young People’s activities in the Derbyshire Dales.

We are very pleased to invite expressions of interest for projects that aim to improve the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people in the Derbyshire Dales.

Please note closing date of 24th April 2024.

The Growing Golden Opportunities Steering Group are looking to commission activities that can deliver the aims and objectives set out below.

We want to fund projects which will help children and young people to have:

  • Improved physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Improved life and practical skills
  • Access to trusted relationships with adults to secure feeling safer

We want to fund projects which will address the identified themes:

  • Emotional education: for parents/carers/people around a child/young person
  • General anxiety: heightened/more widespread due to the pandemic
  • Youth voice: being inclusive, planning and decision making.
  • Social media: pressure/peer pressure, positive body images, online safety
  • Eating disorders: support and information
  • Inclusion of vulnerable groups: home educated, excluded, disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Mobility: challenges around transport, scattered provision
  • Social Isolation: lack of regular social contact

Your project must consider the following:

  • Create opportunities for all children and young people including LGBTQ+, Young Carers, Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND), Home Education
  • Target age groups – early years, transition to secondary school, teenagers (up to 25 years for young people with SEND), parents/carers

Projects should ensure that young people have a voice in the delivery of activity. By this we mean:

  • Young people have a say in what activities you deliver and how they are run
  • How you will encourage feedback from young people and use it to make improvements
  • Provide opportunities for young people to support their peers
  • Young people’s participation at every level

Not for profit groups/organisations that are eligible to apply include Charities, Trusts, Associations, Clubs, constituted community & voluntary groups, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs), Community Interest Companies (CICs), Parish Councils and Statutory Organisations.
