On Wednesday 25th September we welcomed DDCVS member groups, staff and trustees to our Annual General Meeting at the Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell.

As usual, we presented the DDCVS Annual Award to a member group, and this year the award, together with a framed certificate and a cheque for £200 went to Bakewell Parkinson’s Support Group!

Joyce Steele, chairperson of the group collected the award on behalf of the group, and we were very pleased to see many members of the group were able to join us too.

Martin Townsend, DDCVS chairperson presented the award and commented that the award was made in recognition of all the work that group does to provide interesting speakers and trips out for the members, and to provide connection with others, who might be in a similar position and can offer insight or signposting to relevant advice.

The CVS development team has dropped in on the group regularly this year, and it is also a group that the social prescribers refer to; whenever we have visited the group, it comes across as very welcoming and appreciated opportunity for people to get together.
