The hub was recommended by LINK, the UK’s Cash Access and ATM network, following a community request with support from John Whitby, MP for Derbyshire Dales. This is the fourth banking hub to open in Derbyshire following Belper, Clay Cross and Shirebrook. Two more hubs are currently in progress in Ashbourne and Glossop.
This is one of 11 banking hubs that are being opened today across the UK. The other 10 are in Fleetwood, Hayle, Keynsham, Redruth, Wetherby, Alsager, Ballynahinch, Dorking, Dunbar, and Newland.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK, said: “I’m happy to announce that the new banking hub in Bakewell is now open, giving local residents renewed access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.”
