Martin Townsend, Chair

Martin joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and has been Chair since 2016.

Martin worked in retail banks, building societies and financial services throughout his career, in particular focusing on policy, compliance and risk management. He also has experience of product development, marketing and project management.

Martin is also a trustee of Hurst Farm Regeneration Limited, and an Independent Member on the Audit Committee of Calderdale Council.

Wendy Amis

Wendy has recently joined the Board of Trustees. She is the Chief Officer of the Derbyshire Association of Local Councils, providing a wide range of advice, training and specialist support to the Parish and Town Council sector.

Previously she has worked at the Peak District National Park Authority and also for private sector market research companies in both the UK and Asia Pacific.  She is experienced in strategy development, coaching, stakeholder engagement and leadership.

Helen Bovey

Helen worked in the community and voluntary sector and for Peak District National Park Authority before establishing a consultancy company 20 years ago. Today the company specialises in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, evaluation and action research and works with a wide range of clients, including the Environment Agency and Nesta. Community organising and securing community benefit from projects and programmes remain at the heart of Helen’s work and interests.

Marilyn Franks

Marilyn born in a small village in the Peak Park and attend Lady Manners School prior to University.

She  pursued a long career in Local Government working on the front line in Children and Youth Services and with offenders; towards the end of her career in training and  managerial roles.

She brings vast experience of engaging with some of the most vulnerable groups and individuals and is skilled in assessing need.

Grant Forrest

Grant is the Chief Executive Officer of the Parish Giving Scheme, and Chair of the Matlock Preschool Association Committee (Trustees). Married with two children, who love adventure, from days out in a canoe to camping under the Milky Way.

Grant brings a broad background in IT, business development, Charity leadership and people management combined with a passion to see local communities thriving and people flourishing.

Gill Geddes

Gill Geddes

Gill Geddes is Chief Executive of Connex Community Support; she has been on our Board of Trustees since the CVS was formed in 2001.

Gill brings significant experience of the local voluntary and community sector, working with volunteers, vulnerable people and managing a voluntary organisation.

Carolyn Jennings

Carolyn was employed by Barclays PLC in various MarCom roles. Her most memorable was working in the City as National and International Events Manager for Corporate Banking.

After completing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) she moved into Local Government managing the team responsible for delivering services at her local Town Council, and Youth Town Council. She worked in partnership with other Councils, Youth Services, the local Police team, community groups and volunteers.

Phil Stanyer

Phil Stanyer is a business advisor working with a wide range of companies and he specialises in finance and corporate governance.

He is the former Chair of East Midlands Chamber of Commerce and prior to this ran several businesses in the region.
