MEMBERSHIP TO CVS
Like most CVS in the country, DDCVS is a membership organisation. This means that local voluntary organisations, individuals and statutory organisations can become members of DDCVS. A strong part of the ethos of CVS is that we develop services to support the voluntary sector, and that we represent the interests of the voluntary sector at a strategic level. Having a strong membership is an important factor in acheving these aims.
Being a member of a CVS means that you can:
* Show your support for the aims of the CVS
* Influence the way the CVS develops in the future
We reviewed our membership structure in 2007 and made some important changes.
Full Membership is now be offered free to all voluntary organisations and community groups working in the Derbyshire Dales, whose aims are considered compatible with those of DDCVS.
Associate Membership is offered free to statutory agencies, commercial organisation, individuals and voluntary organisations not working in the Dales. Associate membership enables organisations to show their support for the aims of the CVS, but does not give them voting rights or other advantages.
The benefits of Full Membership are:
* the right to vote at Annual and Extraordinary General Meetings
* the right to nominate people for election to the Board of Trustees of DDCVS
* Preferential rates for services provided by DDCVS
* Preferential booking on training courses and other events organised by DDCVS.
