IMPROVING REACH

15 November 2005

A new strand to our development work. We have been funded by the Learning and Development Consortium to carry out development work with groups that will help them to manage themslves more effectively, The work starts with an 'Organisational Health Check'. This entails a meeting between a member of CVS staff and a member of your group to look at issues such as your group's policies, governamce, training needs, Criminal Records Bureau checks and funding.

Should it transpire that you groups needs further advice or assistance in any of these areas we can then support you in doing this, for example we would help you to write a new policy.

There is no cost to completing the health check other than the all important TIME that it will take to see if you have the relevant policies and procedures in place. Unfortunately there is no payment for doing it, though we hope that you would have a sense of achievement and reassurance that your group is running well and all policies are relevant and up to date.

In addition it would be something useful to put on any funding application. Your group may also benefit from the associated free training that the Learning and Devlopment Consortium will be putting on to complement the project.

DDCVS Chief Executive Officer and Development Workers Sarah Paisley and Jonathan Simcock are responsible for carrying out the Organisational Health Checks with groups and supporting the group with any further work that stems from them.
