Celebrating People Award
In 2002 Derbyshire Dales CVS introduced an annual award in honour of its very first Chairman, Jim Heslop, the Celebrating People Award.
Jim’s clear and purposeful vision was largely responsible for establishing the CVS. He was also involved in many other community organisations in the Ashbourne area. When he died, the Derbyshire Dales voluntary sector lost one of its strongest advocates and supporters.
Through this award, DDCVS wants to celebrate and commemorate not only Jim’s contribution, but also his insight into the potential of voluntary activity for personal and community growth.
The award is intended to recognize outstanding contributions to the voluntary and community sector from organizations based in the Derbyshire Dales.
DDCVS will present the Award, a commemorative plaque, framed certificate and cheque for £100, at its Annual General Meeting in September. The Award is open to all groups, however small or large, newly formed or long established and we encourage everyone to apply. There is a simple application form which groups are asked to complete and return to:
